SheSMAT Foundation

Community outreach & engagement

Connecting Research, Knowledge & Communities

Community activities support dissemination, participation, and responsible research translation, with Alzheimer's disease remaining the principal initial application.

Three connected objectives

Alzheimer’s Research Awareness

Communicate the importance of statistical methodology and complex biomedical data analysis, especially in Alzheimer's disease research.

Statistical and Data Literacy

Support foundational learning and knowledge sharing among students, researchers, and interested community members.

Community Collaboration

Explore research needs, data challenges, and responsible application opportunities with community organizations.

Educational Outreach

Connect students, educators, and interested learners with mathematical, statistical, and computational resources.

Exploratory Community Well-Being Applications

Potential future research involving social, environmental, and psychological well-being data — secondary to Alzheimer’s research.

Community impact

Alzheimer’s Research Awareness & Community Engagement

Neuroscience outreach and volunteer engagement

A Triangle Chapter of the Society for Neuroscience (Triangle SfN) outreach announcement shared community volunteering opportunities coordinated with Dementia Inclusive Inc. and Duke HAND at Croasdaile and Magnolia and Orchard. This feature highlights the importance of engaging with older adults and communities affected by dementia-related challenges, alongside SheSMAT's focus on Alzheimer’s research awareness and education.

The outreach announcement documents a volunteer opportunity, not a formal institutional partnership or clinical research program operated by SheSMAT.

From Research Knowledge to Community Engagement

Research dissemination makes methodological ideas accessible. Technical learning helps people engage with those ideas. Collaboration connects that knowledge with relevant research questions and ethical data practices, creating a broader ecosystem for scientific participation.

SheSMAT is not a healthcare provider and does not deliver clinical Alzheimer's services.

Secondary exploratory application

Green Agritech Foundation

Proposed exploratory collaboration

SheSMAT Foundation seeks to explore the application of NeuroGraph Sparse Analytics in collaboration with Green Agritech Foundation to investigate complex relationships among psychological distress, social conditions, environmental pressures, and community well-being, including among agricultural populations.

  • Psychological distress: exploring associations among social, environmental, and well-being factors
  • Agricultural community resilience: investigating interconnected challenges affecting farming communities
  • Graph-structured community data: exploring analysis of interconnected community-relevant measurements

No signed agreement, validated mental health prediction, clinical diagnosis, or demonstrated intervention outcome is represented. Alzheimer's disease remains the principal initial biomedical application.
